ANDY WARHOL’S 'SCREEN TESTS' + CONRAD VENTUR’S 'SCREEN TESTS REVISITED', PGM 1

These two programs pair Warhol's seminal and often exquisite SCREEN TESTS – the silent, black-and-white, three-and-a-half minute filmic portraits he made between 1964-66, which grew to encompass 472 separate reels, portraying 189 individual subjects (many of them sitting for multiple portraits) – with Conrad Ventur's 21st-century remakes. For Ventur's (ongoing) project, he has sought out as many of the surviving SCREEN TESTees as possible, and restaged their portraits, resulting in a poetic tribute to Warhol's films and to the transformations wrought by time. Conrad Ventur in person on Sat, Nov 21!
