Lust for Life (1956)
Directed by Vincente Minnelli
122 minutes
With its gorgeous widescreen compositions, sometimes taken over by Van Gogh’s canvases, Lust for Life is an enveloping melodrama about two of the director’s recurring preoccupations: the creation of art and the trappings of masculinity.
