MULTI-MEDIA RESOURCE CENTER PGM 6: EROTIC FANTASY
EROTIC FANTASY: BEESON AND BEYOND While the bulk of the National Sex Forum's (NSF) in-house productions were directed by Laird Sutton, a Methodist minister like co-founder Ted McIlvenna, the organization's more experimental output was mostly helmed by Constance (or Coni) Beeson. A photojournalist-turned-filmmaker, Beeson's films on women's sexuality were cited as inspirations by her contemporary Barbara Hammer. In this program, presented in chronological order, three Beeson films produced for the NSF, each depicting sexual encounters layered in double-exposure and pastoral imagery, are bookended by classic works of expressive erotic cinema that, though not distributed by the Multi-Media Resource Center, would be at home in its catalogs.
