Prison + Who Are You Dorothy Dean? Book Launch and Q&A (1965)
Directed by Andy Warhol
35 minutes
Éditions 1989 celebrates the launch of the second edition of Who Are You Dorothy Dean? When Dorothy Dean (1932–1987) entered the 1960s New York underground scene, she quickly became one of its key figures—starring in six of Andy Warhol's films and inspiring the likes of Robert Mapplethorpe and Robert Creeley. The evening will feature a special 35-min excerpt from Andy Warhol's Prison (1965), inspired by Bibbe Hansen's experiences in a juvenile detention center and featuring Dean. Post-screening Q&A with Anaïs Ngbanzo and Collier Schorr, moderated by Hugo Bausch Belbachir. Books will be available for purchase and signing!
